The Trinity…”perfect relationship is the heart of reality.  Our desire for intimacy - maybe its with friends, family, our significant other, or children….to be utterly known….scripture talks about intimacy in Genesis, in the beginning it talks about walking with God, but more than that it talks about being naked and unashamed, now i am not advocating nudist colonies or walking around with no clothes on - please keep you clothes on, but naked - there isnt an example or being more vunerable, uncovered, known - perfect intimacy - and also cared for, loved, a love that offers no shame but acceptance, no fear but grace….this desire for perfect intimacy is something that was never lost in the fall of Genesis 3, it is what we were created for - to experience such a love, to know one who can responsibly, passionately, and convincingly know all of us and love us…. this desire is there …. yet we are looking for love in all the wrong places - this is so much more than a country song - its this generation and so many others - its ‘our’ anthem …. yet our Father waits at the end of the road looking, longing for his children to come home, longing to get to run out to them, to love them, to show them, offer them, and invite them into this intimacy again.

Over and over again we do this dance with God - desiring and living in that intimacy and then seeing an advertisement for an easier way, a more comfortable way and just like Adam and Eve we stray, we stray though knowing where our rest comes from, knowing where our acceptance is, knowing where we are utterly known and yet in spite of that for many - for me - still cared for, knowing that it is in God, the Trinity - Father, Son and Holy Spirit where we can be naked and unashamed - where our longing can be fulfilled…. we stray from perfect intimacy offered.  Why?  The grass is never greener, and the truth of this intimacy couldnt be better described…. The God of this universe left heaven to come to this earth to pursue us, to offer this intimacy, to make it possible …. what lies are we buying that promise to give this kind of intimacy - no thing or action can do this - its rest only in God, and so must we…
